SMS Terms

1. The program

Castaic Truck Stop Dispatch Texts is a dispatch notification program. It sends text messages only to people who have agreed to receive them: the drivers who haul our fuel loads and the office staff who dispatch them. It is not open to the public, and it never sends marketing or promotional messages.

2. What we send

To drivers

• A text when the office offers you a fuel load. It gives the load number, the fuel, where and when to pick it up, and a link to our secure driver website, where you sign in and accept or decline the load. The link is on our own castaictruckstop.com address and takes you straight on to the driver website.
• A text confirming your answer after you accept or decline.

To office staff

• A text when a driver accepts or declines a load, with the driver’s name, the load, and any reason the driver gave for declining.

Examples

The load number, fuel, place, time, name and reason are examples. A long place name is shortened with “...” so that the offer fits in one text.

We also send the confirmation of joining and the automatic replies to START, HELP and STOP described below. We do not send reminders, changes, cancellations or anything else. The owner may send a test message to his own phone to check that texting works.

3. How often

Message frequency varies with dispatch activity. A driver usually gets two texts for each load offered to him: the offer and the confirmation of his answer. Office staff get one text each time a driver answers. On days with no loads, no texts are sent.

4. Cost

Msg & data rates may apply. We do not charge you anything for these texts, but your mobile carrier’s normal message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan.

5. How to join

Joining is optional and is not a condition of working with us. If you do not join, the loads offered to you still appear on the driver website when you sign in.

1. Ask Sam for the sign-up form. It contains the notice below. Read it, tick the box if you agree, write your mobile number, and sign.
2. From that mobile, text START to (656) 255-5552.
3. You will receive this confirmation:
   Confirmation of joiningCastaic Truck Stop: you joined dispatch texts about fuel loads. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or call 818-442-5555, STOP to opt out. We will not sell or share your mobile number or this consent with third parties, except the companies that deliver the texts.
4. The office then switches dispatch texts on for you. You receive no dispatch texts until both steps are done.

This is the notice printed on the sign-up form (form version 3). You can also see a picture of the blank form.

6. How to stop

Reply STOP to any of our texts. STOPALL, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE and OPTOUT work the same way. You will receive one final text confirming it, and then no further messages:

You can also stop the texts any other way you like: tell Sam in person, call 818-442-5555, email SamK@CastaicTruckStop.com, or reply in your own words. We will stop them as soon as we can, and in any case within 10 business days. To join again later, text START to (656) 255-5552.

7. Help

Reply HELP to any of our texts for help. You will receive:

8. Changing your number, or leaving

If you change your mobile number, tell the office. Texts to the old number stop, and the new number needs a new sign-up. If you stop working with us, texts to you stop at the same time.

9. Delivery

Texts can be delayed or fail to arrive for reasons outside our control. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. If you expect a load and no text arrives, sign in to the driver website or call the office: every load offered to you is shown there.

10. Privacy

Read our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how we use it. Like any business, we must obey a court order or other legal requirement to hand over information (Privacy Policy, section 6).

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will post the new version on this page with a new date at the top, and tell the people who receive the texts directly.
